Williams Supply Hosting EV Charging Station

ROANOKE, VA., Nov. 21, 2011 — Williams Supply, Inc., a leading distributor of electrical and lighting products and services, will have a PEP EV charging station on display for testing and demonstration on Dec. 7, 2011, at its downtown Roanoke location at 210 Seventh Street, S.W.

An estimated 40 million plug-in electric vehicles, such as the Nissan LEAF, GM Chevrolet Volt, Ford Focus EV as well as many others, are expected to be on the road by 2030.

The PEP charging station, provided by Hubbell Incorporated, can charge two electric vehicles simultaneously. A touch-screen user interface guides electric vehicle drivers through a few easy steps to initiate charging, providing the driver an electric refueling experience similar to that of self-serve gas pumps. Users can charge their vehicles in half hour increments up to a maximum of 12 hours.

Hosting Hubbell and the PEP station is part of Williams’ ongoing efforts to research and eventually invest in an EV charging station in the near future.
